Hexen II

Description:
You choose your character from one of four character classes - assassin, necromancer, crusader and paladin - and set out on a quest to destroy the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Following their demise, you must combat the third Serpent Rider, Eidolon (his two siblings having been vanquished in Heretic and Hexen). There's a thread of a story tying the whole premise together, but it really just serves as a means of dropping you into the lush, graphically rich environments. Which isn't necessarily a criticism - the environments are the best thing about Hexen II, especially when playing the GL version. You'll explore five beautifully texture-mapped realms - a medieval village, a Meso-American temple, an Egyptian tomb, a Greco-Roman palace, and a gloomy cathedral. The visual detail - with tiled mosaics at the bottoms of pools and hieroglyphics on the walls of tombs - is like nothing ever seen in the action genre. In fact, it is not an overstatement to say that Hexen II is one of the most beautiful games ever made.

You come across a miracle surviving soldiers who were thrown to his death here. Surrounded by an artificially created by the beast-men, they shot indiscriminately in the direction of any movement or rustle. Only among them you will feel what it means to be a real man among these wild creatures - failed similarities of people.

Cops 2170 - The Power Of Law

Cops 2170 is the story of Katy, a young police academy graduate out to tackle a corrupt and dangerous world. You control Katy, as well as the members of the squad she recruits, as they battle crime in both the upper and lower parts of the futuristic city that they protect. One of the few interesting features in the game is the branching storyline, which lets you decide which factions you want Katy to assist. Do you assist the corrupt cops? Then again, are they really corrupt? Katy's naïve outlook on the world opens up some interesting questions as to who you can really trust. However, this glimmer of interesting potential is wasted, as it doesn't take long after the first mission for the plot to collapse in a convoluted mess involving mutants, evil corporations, corrupt cops, bloodthirsty robots, evil clowns, gun-toting giant rats, and more.

With as much as 150 players (although 64-128 players are most common), two sides clash together in an all out war with help of helicopters, boats, APCs and other vehicles which there are 29. Most of the game player will be on foot and aiding him/her is 35 different weapons from knifes to Stinger launchers. There are many classes to choose from and all of them are useful. There's medic, engineer, soldier, gunner and sniper. The thing that separates this one from many other online shooters is that Joint Ops actually makes the players work together. One example: If you're a driver driving a jeep, you get partial credits of the kills from people who you just drove, for two minutes after you dropped them off.

The official expansion to Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is here. To help you get around these new levels, there are a wide range of new vehicles, including motorbikes, M-1 and T-80 tanks, and Apache and Hokum attack helicopters. These complement the existing transport helicopters and vehicles from the original game by adding hefty amounts of firepower. However, for all the offensive punch these new vehicles add, they're offset by the fact that most vehicles are death traps to be in during combat. Your life expectancy in the Apache and Hokum attack helicopters is usually measured in seconds once you begin a strafing run, due to the prevalence of so many Stinger missiles in the hands of infantrymen below. (It's even worse when you're sniped while sitting in the ~censored~ of an Apache while waiting for its engine to spool up. For all the armor on the real-world helicopters, you've got little protection from bullets in these virtual ones.) Meanwhile, tanks can fall prey to other tanks or, more likely, to an infantryman carrying the powerful Javelin antitank missile. Since tanks ideally require three crewmen to operate, it's possible to knock out three players like this in one fell swoop. However, you rarely see tanks with a full complement of crew, as most of the time it's simply easier for a single player to take a tank and jump between the driver and gunner stations, thus turning it into a mobile artillery piece.
